So, when our power unexpectedly went out a few nights ago, and all of my kids piled into the recliner for my oldest to read to them by candle and flashlight, I was delighted once again. Not only for the reading aspect of it, but they were squished TOGETHER in a chair, enjoying each other's company. To say that my kids don't usually get along is an understatement. Squabbling, screaming, hitting and crying are the norm around here.
These pictures are so far from being technically "good". I took them for ME and I'm ok with that.
When I was editing these, the song He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother was in my head. lol

OH Christie...what a great story! We had a powercut recently too and it's lovely to sit with candles and torches, isn't it? :)
I love the first photo. :)
ohh my , these are wonderful. I understand what you mean about all the sibling fighting!! LOL it is the same here so I really understand the need to capture such a sweet moment, goodness knows they don't last long enough :-)

That is outstanding. I'm sitting with my son just a few minutes ago talking about reading. Guess what, he doesn't want to read right now either! I can't wait for the month where he craves to read novels!
Very sweet and I love the pics. They are beautiful
These are wonderful! Photography rules are meant to be broken for these moments exactly :)
Lovely :)
What great memories! You will cherish those shots forever. Such a sweet moment to have on camera!
What wonderful memories you have preserved. They will love these one day when the rivalries of childhood have passed.
These are great!! You will cherish these forever, what a great memory!! Love #1!
These are so sweet! I thought I had already commented but I think I forgot to press the "publish your comment" button, haha. Anyway, these ARE the moments cameras were made to capture... and you did a great job capturing them!
BTW I didn't know you had a 12-year-old... my younger brother is almost 13. He never liked reading until this year or last, and it's really cool to see him enjoying it now. :)
