Down by the river

We spent a day at the river last week with our homeschool group. I have a fear of the actual raging, moving water river. This was actually a little swimming pool area off the main river.

Just a quick snap of where we were. I am NO good at landscape shots. The little bridge way up high is the bridge we drive across to go in and out of our little town. It's the tallest bridge in California. Yikes!
Just the view up to the Foresthill Bridge while we were swimming in the river.

I photographed almost exclusively boys all day, for some reason. My pictures are usually of pink, ruffly, snuggly, cutesy girls but man, the little BOYS that day were so cute and hilarious.

You've seen my son, Nicholas and on the right is his friend. We'll call his friend Mr.T because 1.his mom might not want me revealing his name online and 2.his name actually starts with the letter T. lol

Just a couple of cool dudes, right? Hanging out, getting some sun and checking out the waves.
river dogs

They're cool as cucumbers until a girl arrives on the scene.

"I'm not looking at her".
"Neither am I".
ewww, it's a girl.

"Hey, let's show her how tough we are!" Doesn't she look impressed?
showing off

"Aww, she's not so bad. She's kind of cute".

"And she's got a pretty cute swimsuit on".

"Um, I don't know about this. You guys are giving me the creeps!"

This is Mr. T. This kid was cracking me up with his goggles on.

Some days, he says "Mommy, you can never take a picture of me ever again". Then later he'll say, "I changed my mind. You can take my picture anytime you want".
I love this boy.

This is the last one, sorry so many! This is actually my favorite. I shot it and love it for the dark shadows and interaction between the dog and him. This is the nearly adult son of a good friend of mine.

Wow, what a cool location! That looks like such a fun day. I *love* the series of the boys, that's so fun. It seems all males are alike, even little boys! Haha. Awesome photos. Although I think I like the last one best.... For photographic reasons, of course :)

Amazing! All of them. Love the story you told about the boys and the gilr..made me laugh. :o)

As for the landscape shot that you said you weren't good at taking...It is wonderful!! I really like that one.

Thank you, Shannon!

Thanks, Jennifer. That one is one of my favorites too.

Ellen, thanks. Yes, isn't it funny how young they start? Ellen, it's ok. I think you're young enough to like that one for "other" reasons, lol. :)

Thank you , Rebecca. My problem with the landscape shots is I don't know where to focus. I need to practice some more.

Great interchange between your boys and the girl, it's funny how fast those social dynamics develop. You captured it really well. Nice shots!

Wow, you've got some fabulous photos in this post!! I LOVE the b/w closeup of your son... those eyes are gorgeous.

And the pics of the boys with that little girl cracked me up - especially when they're eyeing up her suit!!! Too young for that - my daughter is almost 8 and it makes me cringe to think it could start so soon...
